Bountiful Blooms - Wisteria Part 2

Spring is such a special season.

You gotta savor the early blooms.

 They are so delicate and strong at the same time.

 Our wisteria is in full bloom right now and I am loving every minute of it.

 I have been photographing it over and over.

Like a proud new mom!

In the picture below I think it is apparent that the wisteria loves the arbor my husband built as much as I do. 

 The blossoms will only last a few weeks, a windy day or some high temps and it's bye bye to the blooms. 

But the vines and leaves are another story...

.

In the summer I usually have to trim the wisteria about 4 or 5 times. It grows like a weed! We hardly even water it anymore. I know that sounds odd but it is 22yrs old this year!! So I guess we are doing something right.

Paula's Spring Porch - Vintage Bike

Spring is here! Wake up winter hibernation is over!

 It's time to put some blossoms in a basket!

This spring Paula has the perfect basket for her blooms on this vintage bike.

This bike is no "spring chicken" but it definitely keeps getting better with age.

All original parts on this baby!

I am sure there were many springtime memories made on this 'cycle!

 This bike has earned some time relaxing on the porch....quietly enjoying another spring.

Since we are still having chilly nights, Paula "planted" some hardy metal flowers for early spring. 

They are early bloomers....

Below is a close up of one of the mini watering cans dangling from a mini Shepard's hook.

 One of the many things I love about Paula's place are her carriage house garage doors. They are absolutely charming! Check them out in the photo below.

Flowering Shamrock

 So it's March, time to get your green on,

If you are gonna go green...

and it's March...

A flowering Shamrock is the way to go.

 At a cost of $3.99 it's affordable too.

 Off subject, but in the picture above check out my cool "new to me" metal stool from Ebay. I love how "aged" it is.

Lots of little white blooms on my Shamrock.

These babies were flying off the shelf. Almost every customer in the store had one in their shopping cart.

 I am guessing that I am the only person to come home and photograph their Shamrock about a hundred times and then blog about it...

Our Shamrock feels like a celebrity.

So of course a post about Shamrocks needed an Irish Blessing or two.

Made those at PicMonkey. It is so easy to add fun text to your photos.

Then I went on a filter frenzy at PicMonkey.

PicMonkey can be addicting.

Valentine's Love U Banner

Thank you so much to the ladies at Ivy & Elephants for featuring my banner at their What's It Wednesday Link Up Party!! I am so flattered! Click on the box below to visit their classy blog. Always something fun at Ivy and Elephants!!

And in the blink of an eye it's time for Valentine's.

 I don't usually decorate for Valentine's Day but I had this idea for a winter white Valentine's banner.

  I tore some pages from an old paperback book and printed LOVE U on the pages. I used a bold font for LOVE and a thin curly font for the U.

I trimmed the paper into a pendant shape. Next I crimped some ivory colored paper for the second layer of the banner.

 I used burlap for the back layer of the banner. I frayed the edges of the burlap for a bit of texture.

I made paper grommets to reinforce the holes that I threaded the twine through.

 I attached some trim with my glue gun. I think the light frilly trim gives it a shabby chic look.

 In the photo above I made a flower out of the trim and added a rhinestone to the middle of it. I used my glue gun to attach the flower to the center of the "O".

  In the photo above you can see one of the fence board boxes my husband made. I cut the hinges out of black paper on my Silhouette machine. I love they way they turned out. I poked some brass brads through the hinges hoping to make them look more like real hinges.

I think this banner is great for Valentine's Day and it would also work as a wedding decoration too. It was an inexpensive project too, I put the whole thing together for under $7.
