DIY Mesh Wreaths

Christmas is coming!
Whether you like it or not.
That explains these Christmas wreaths in Oct.
Otherwise they don't make any sense.
I haven't even decorated for autumn yet...it's over 80 degrees everyday.
So it made sense to make some Christmas decos.
Well it made sense to my crafty friends.
And now here I am with five, yes you read that right five mesh wreaths later.

I don't know what happened....
apparently I thought I needed a mesh wreath in every color!
 So I made five???
Here are the three Christmas wreaths I made,
that will make nice gifts for...well I better not say who just yet.
Below is a picture of my friend Andi.
She started this whole mesh wreath marathon.
Somehow everyone else just made one wreath, not sure how I ended up making five.
But I am pretty sure somehow it's Andi's fault.
Maybe she just really inspires me.
Or maybe I just don't have any self control???

While shopping one day Andi sees the mesh wreath below and says "lets make that"
So we did!
It did take two luncheons for us to finish them.
We are a fun group and we always enjoy our get togethers.
In the above photo is Dana's gorgeous wreath.
There is Pookie (my sister Julie) (Marvins oldest daughter....meaning older than me!)
Love her and her festive wreath!
Next up is Andi's wreath.
I love the rich traditional Christmas colors she picked for her wreath.
I love getting together with my crafty friends.
Fun, food and lots of laughs.

It was pretty easy to put together after watching the video.
Check back to see the Nightmare Before Christmas inspired wreath I made,
it's my favorite of the five.

Wedding Chalkboard

Today I want to share some chalkboards I did for a wedding this summer.
Silhouette Cameo
I love how they turned out.
More importantly the bride and groom did too.
Silhouette Cameo
I cut vinyl letters with my Silhouette Cameo and stuck them on the chalkboards.
I would love to do "real" chalkboard art but I have to come to realize that chalkboard art is a "real art" Sometimes I feel like being a crafter not an artist....and just using the Silhouette Cameo.
Everyone liked the boards and the vinyl letters peel right off.
Silhouette Cameo
I had put the bride and grooms initials in the hearts above but I peeled them off and tossed them before I realized I hadn't taken a picture of the boards yet..oops.
Blogger brain fart.
I didn't get a picture of the boards at the ceremony either....

The bride and groom are on a romantic tropical honeymoon right now, staying true to their happily ever after.

Nevada City Day Trip

Hey welcome back!
Ready to check out where I picked for our second day tip?
It was another gorgeous autumn day, so I said lets head for the hills....
I was ready to see some trees after our trip to the dark side of the moon  uh I mean Pyramid Lake.
So I picked the charming mountain community of Nevada City.
Nevada city is one of the most quaint towns I have ever visited.
The street signs are made of wood....need I say more?
Every house has a cute fence....

Adorable arches to enter the yards....
This place is like a storybook!
Almost every house has a cool porch too.
 Plenty of places to daydream....
Oh yeah wouldn't this be nice, a second story deck....
This shabby chic patio in the photo below needs a big comfy reading chair...
Fun entry on the place below...
Downtown Nevada City...
These pictures are deceiving, it was actually a busy bustling day, lots of shoppers out.

All the businesses have such unique signs.
 Very artsy.
A little bit of everything in Nevada City.
Below is probably not the best picture of the South Pine Cafe where we had lunch.
Don't judge a book by it's cover, the food is delicious!
Check out the cute waiter who looked just like Jared Leto oops I mean
 Check out their lunch menu...
I went with the grilled turkey....mmmmmmm autumn comfort food.
And that salad dressing, it looks like ranch but not even close, it's a feta, garlic vinaigrette.
My hubby went with the lobster tacos, another wise choice.
We had a great day, full tummy's make for a happy couple.

I am OK with posting this picture because my husbands hair actually looks worse than mine!
33 years of bad hair days, we definitely have a lot to smile about!

Pyramid Lake Day Trip

In northern Nevada we are pretty much guaranteed fabulous fall weather.
And we appreciate it!
Havenesse
Last week we woke up to another beautiful fall day.
So we hopped in the truck and hit the road!
We ended up at Pyramid Lake.
It was a gorgeous day!
I grew up in Northern California, let me tell you the first time I saw Pyramid Lake it was a bit shocking...not a tree in sight!

Dexter is looking for a tree himself.
Pyramid Lake
I guess that's why they built these covered picnic tables.
So there would be some shade.

These tables are all positioned to view the Pyramid.

I am guessing they were built in the 1950's, I can't find any info on them.
I have to be honest I think they are totally cool but I won't be having a meal at these tables.
I have had plenty of meals while camping at Pyramid, just not at these tables.
My husband likes to fish at Pyramid lake, I like to read books at Pyramid.
Dexter is happy as a clam just to be at the lake!
So this day trip was my husbands choice which meant that lunch was his choice too.
Below is the appropriately named Mile High  Bacon Burger from Carl's Jr.
Oh my goodness....

My husbands body burns calories like a furnace...my body stores calories like a hoarder.
Yeah lunch is always an issue for us...
Check back to see where I picked to go for our next day trip....
I picked an eatery that does not serve food to you in your truck thru a window.
