Welcome paper lovers. Today I have a couple of pretty cards to show you. Like I mentioned a few weeks ago I am hooked on the chevron pattern trend. And I love a simple heart banner.
To start with I cut four manila folders to make four 5" x 7" cards. (I was out of large cards!) I used the fold of the folder for the card fold. Next I stenciled the chevron background onto some cream colored cardstock with light turquoise acrylic paint. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process. I tried to mist some ink onto the chevron background.....but it ended up more like a spray! I still love it. Spray ink in every color, that sounds like a good idea for me!!

I knew it was a good time to dig into my scraps of printed paper for the hearts. I just punched them with my heart punch. Then I stitched them onto the chevron background paper. I thought the phrase could work for different occasions, so I stamped it on with black ink.
Same game plan for the next set of cards just a softer color palette. I love gray, yellow and cream.
It has a modern timeless look to it.
You could always skip stenciling the chevron background and just use some scrapbook paper already printed. Skip the sewing step too just glue some hearts and stamp a phrase. I rubbed some black ink on the edges of the background papers. I then matted the chevron backgrounds onto black paper then attached them to the cards.
They a simple and pretty cards.
Our puppy Dexter is now one year old!! He has several hobbies he enjoys, like chewing sticks he brings in the house, running, chewing on my craft stuff, jumping, did I mention chewing and he tries to get some barking in each day!! What an active guy!! We are all completely wrapped around his....paw?
Leave me a comment and let me know if you are feeling the chevron trend? A rug is next on my list!Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day, Lori
